CALSERVES
Passion, Potential and Power! CalSERVES makes a difference in the lives of children and families through a range of exceptional programs. Our after school programs are serving the needs of children and their families. We match caring adults with children in need of extra support and guidance, provide our AmeriCorps members with a comprehensive training program and on-site coaching, and coordinate with our school and community partners to create outstanding learning environments for all of our participants.
The daily components of the After School program have been designed to meet the needs of children who are academically and socially at risk. The daily components, based on best practices, and funding promises include the following: 1-10 ratio of AmeriCorps Mentors to students, Homework Help, Literacy Development, Enrichment, Service Learning, and Health and Wellness. With this model, the CalSERVES program vision is to provide opportunities for learners to discover passions, realize potential, and express power.
